Best Bonuses Explicated

Casino online is very popular, not only because of the games they offer, but because of the best bonuses they offer.  These bonuses serve to attract as many online gamers as possible. These also make most players stay at their sites.  There are many types of bonuses, read on to see how many of these bonuses you can benefit from and to have the best bonuses explicated…

First there are welcome bonuses or new player bonuses.  These types are ‘given’ when you first sign up in their sites.  However, these bonuses would require you to deposit amounts before you get the bonus.  There are sites that pay up to 500 per cent of your deposit.  So basically, if you put 100 $ then you get to have 500 $ to start your game.

For repeat customers, if you deposit again when you have already used up your credits, then most sites offer match – up bonus.  This means that the amount you ‘re- load’ will be doubled.  Say, you deposit 100 $ after you have used up your credit, then the match up bonus is also 100 $.

Another popular bonus is the no deposit bonuses.  These are the ones that do not require you to deposit. However, this is just a small amount, usually up to about 10 $. This is to jump start you into playing their games.

Loyalty bonuses are for those that have been signed up at the site for a long period.  In most casinos, you are automatically entitled to such bonuses.  So do not be surprised if the casino has just launched a loyalty bonus and you get a few extra playing bucks.  The longer you stay in the ‘company’, the higher the per cent of the bonus.

There are also high – roller bonuses.  These are for those that deposit high amounts, usually reaching thousands of dollars.  Sometimes, these bonuses are also quoted as VIP bonuses.

Some bonuses are also given to non- US players.  This is usually done to attract more players outside the US.  Although, there are also some that are offered for all members of the site.

There are also bonuses from different sites in forms of raffles, money giveaways, new game bonuses and trivia contests that you can join.  You can earn a few bucks while still playing your favorite games.

While playing at online casinos make sure that you still practice responsible gaming.  This will ensure that you don’t spend all your money and can still play even after a few gambling sessions.

Going for the big payoffs…

Are you one of those online roulette players going for the big payouts?  Its definitely more risky but if you happen to strike it lucky then the payoffs make it worthwhile.

Lets say that you have $50 to play roulette with… in each round you could make one $10 bet on red or five $2 bets on individual numbers.  Did you know that the chance of losing all five of your bets on red is 4% (1 in 25)?  And, the chance of losing five rounds of straight-up bets is 49% (almost 1 in 2).

In the long run, when you are playing roulette it doesn’t make any difference whether you go for the big payouts or the smaller ones.  But you may play for longer if you bet with less, and that way you will have more fun… won’t have to keep reaching into your pockets so often….

So my roulette tip of the day is:  Slow down your losses and bet with less.

Biased roulette wheels vs poker skills

Do you get biased roulette wheels?

I really wouldn’t recommend favoring a certain wheel because I think it is biased towards certain numbers.  There are just too many random things that can affect the outcome of the ball landing on the same number.

Say a wheel is biased towards certain numbers and you spot this and decide to bet on those numbers, the ball will still not always finish on the number that you want, when you want it to.  How much money will you lose, waiting for the ball to land on the biased number.  It just isn’t worth the risk.

Some gamblers swear that they have found biased roulette wheels and prospered from them.  But then again do you always believe a gambler????

Personally if I am playing to win, then I prefer a casino game that involves skill and doesn’t just rely on luck.  Thats why I like poker because you have to be a skilled player to beat the other players and take the pot.  You can just play online poker games for fun – complete online poker guide will help you develop that poker skill so that you can win the pots!

Roulette Tips & Odds

It is known that roulette is a game of luck.  But it is never bad to look for a way to increase your odds at winning.  Here are a few online roulette tips shared by skilled players:

1. You are actually doing the first tip already… research the roulette rules, best tips and odds.
2. Choose the best wheel.  This means finding the one that you know best. The best one so far and chosen by most is European Roulette, which has a smaller house advantage.  That means that the house only has 2.70 % of gaining than American Roulette’s 5.26% advantage.
3. Play the top bet.  Chose the one that has a 50/50 chance of winning.  Say, a red and black, an odd and even, or a high or low bets – these bets have lower low odds.
4. Avoid single number bets, they have a lesser chance of winning.
5. Always take a breather when you are on a losing streak.  You can try betting smaller denominations.  You may also opt for ‘corner betting’; by using five chips you can cover eleven numbers.
6. Another way of increasing roulette odds of winning is by simply betting wisely and not methodically. There are no such things as ‘in every three consecutive black turn, the fourth will be red’.  The spin and the wheels do not have memory.
7. Surrender rules are also played in some roulettes, you may opt to find wheels that have it.
8. ‘En Prison’ rules and ‘La Partage’ rules decrease house advantage; you should learn how to use them well.
9. Try to remember why you are playing.  If you are playing for money only, then try a game that depends on skills and luck.  But, if you are after the fun of playing, roulette can be the best ‘de-stressing’ game for you.
10. If your losing streak continues, quit!  This saves you for another day of roulette bets.

Roulette in a land-based casino is slightly different from online roulette, but the rules and odds do not vary much.  Before playing online roulette, make sure that you have everything that you need for online gaming. Some of these include a computer, a good internet connection, credit cards (or any means of depositing or receiving payouts) and the technical knowledge of navigating around the system.  Remember that in any casino game, handling your money wisely is still the most important tip.

“Casino Gambling” by Andrew Brisman

I have just been given the Mensa guide to “Casino Gambling” by Andrew Brisman. Looks like some good stuff in there… so if I see some casino tips in there, it would be good to debate them.

It has a section for each of the casino games – video poker to card games – covering topics from how to play the game, strategy and tips and then a section that is essential to play like a genius… looks good, cant wait to get into it!

The book even has a chapter on sports betting. As well as a general guide to the casino.

Anyone read it?

Signs of a gambler

How can you tell if someone is a gambler?  What are the signs of a gambler?

Well usually they have pale skin and dark rings under their eyes… they blink a lot when out in the sun… because they don’t see a lot of the sun.

No they are not vampires… although they can turn nasty after long losing streaks in the casino… curse insanities, froth at the mouth.. but don’t worry they usually don’t bite.  Only in extremely rare cases will they turn rabid and bite…

They speak their own language, more a jargon of gambling terms, with exclamations depending on whether they are winning or losing.  Tend to spend a lot of time not saying much as they concentrate on their gambling strategy and then suddenly burst out emotionally into random cackle about something unimportant or just wave their hands about in frustration, mumbling whilst trying to remain in control of their emotions…

It doesn’t matter where in the world you are – casinos and online gambling attract the same species… be careful and treat them with caution!

Online Poker Magazine

You know what its like subscribing to magazines.  They look great at first, you are all enthusiastic when you first get them and then slowly they start to pile up as you get behind reading them.

Nice thing about online magazines is that they don’t lie around everywhere cluttering the place up.  You can choose to go online whenever you want and read the latest articles.  And if you miss a few articles… who cares?  There is nothing reminding you every time you look at the pile of magazines, that you haven’t read half of them.

PokerPlasm is an example of an online poker magazine, of which there are many.  The online poker magazine will offer you poker related articles, interviews with poker players and poker tips to help you get ahead.

But it doesn’t only have to be poker, whatever casino games you are interested in, you can find an online site specific to that casino game.

Online Poker Games

Watching Rounders has got me in the mood for poker… so I’ve been playing some online poker.  Really want to get down to a casino and take on some players in the flesh… but I need to improve my poker skills, no better way to do it than at an online poker room!

I played a few freeroll poker games first, just to get my eye in and make sure I didn’t lose any of my own money.  Online Poker Central offered me plenty of places to play poker, poker room reviews – so you can chose the best place to play poker, good bonus offers, exclusive freerolls, poker news and even a schedule of poker tournaments.  I think I might just enter a tourney and see how I do… Mr SOB lets play some cards!!!

Its so useful to have one tried and trusted site that you can go to for your poker needs.  You can trust it and know that you can get all the poker information you need and a choice of poker rooms to play at.

Rake Calculation Methods

I wrote about the rakeback that you can get whilst playing poker, a couple of weeks back.  Now lets take a closer look at rake calculation methods.

Different poker rooms use different ways to determine their players’ MGRs (MGR = Monthly Gross Revenue). Because the rakeback that you get is a direct % of this MGR, you should definitely know what method your poker room uses to be able to assess the amount of rakeback you’re due.

This is vital information for a player who wants to optimize his/her performance.  Some rake contribution methods may offer an advantage, depending on your style of poker play.  So it pays to know how your rake is quantified, so that you can maximize your returns.

Some poker rooms use the dealt rake method.  The dealt rake method distributes the rake resulting from a hand to all those who were dealt into the hand.  This means you’ll get rake contribution even if you do nothing but sit there and get dealt in.  This method offers an obvious advantage to tight passive players who are not fond of putting their money into the pot.  Those who play a loose and aggressive game, will end up producing rake for these tight passive rocks.

The contributed rake method only offers MGR share to those who actually put money into the pot.  While it’s much more accurate than the dealt rake method, the contributed rake method still features some shortcomings: it distributes the resulting rake equally among those who put money into the pot, regardless of the actual sums involved.  This way, aggressive players will still end up generating rake and rakeback for those who play a loose-passive game.

Finally, the weighted contributed rake calculation method is the only one which is more accurate.  Player contributions are considered quantitatively.  If you put more money into the pot than an opponent, you will be allotted more rake contribution.  If you’re a loose-aggressive player, this method is in your favor.  If you’re a tight-passive rock though, you’ll barely generate any rakeback in a room featuring this rake contribution method.  When it comes to poker propping, the method used to calculate rake can have an even bigger affect.
